CULTURE TRIP TO PIRKKALA

Welcome to a culture trip to Pirkkala! The journey begins from Tampere Old Church at 15.00, where we will also return at 21.30. The price includes transportation, a buffet, a visit and presentation at the studio of stone mosaic artist Ritva Luukkanen and a classical guitar concert. There will also be a guided presentation to Pirkkala and it's history.
Ritva Luukkanen is an internationally recognised stone mosaic artist. She collects different kinds of coloured rocks, cracks them into small pieces and turns them into unique and captivating works of art. Read more about Ritva Luukkanen.
Pirkkala’s Old church was built in 1921. Beautiful paintings were designed by architect Ilmari Launis. The paintings are shown symbolically in many ways human sin and salvation.

• After concert: guide tells stories about the Church and Pirkkala (in Finnish)
